Art has always been primarily a hobby for his own enjoyment, though he has sold various drawings and paintings over the years. Most of his work has been given either as personal gifts or as donations for fundraising projects of non-profit organizations. In 2019, he completed a series of biblical panels done in oil for the Pilgrim Church in Leavenworth, Kansas.
In many of Roger’s illustrations, he places a tiny snail from his initials, RGM. Look to see if you can find them in this book!
Jim Godwin, Illustrator
Jim was born and raised in Starke, Florida. His fondest memory was being the co-captain of his high school football team, the Tornadoes, composed of the toughest, determined twenty-one players led by the toughest and determined coaches: Head Coach David Hurse, Coach Tony Griffith, and Coach Mike Sexton. Following two perfect seasons, the Tornados achieved back-to-back Class “A” Florida State Championships. After graduating from the United States Military Academy, Jim served thirty years in the army and fifteen years as a government contractor. Currently, he enjoys being with family―including five grandchildren―playing golf, woodworking, keeping up with friends―old and new―and visiting Starke where his mother, Peggy, and sister, Cheryl, and her husband, George Canova, still live.
